In 2007, Ryan began his career as a P.A., assisting Dr. Parker with surgery and treating patients in the hospital and clinic. He prides himself in making patient care the highest priority, and states: “The most rewarding part of medicine is spending time with patients and helping to improve their quality of life.” Ryan has 3 wonderful children, one boy and two girls. In his spare time, Ryan tries to keep up with them. They enjoy watching movies, playing sports, going to the pool, cooking, and just clowning around.
Physician assistants are health care professionals licensed and certified to practice medicine with physician supervision. As part of their overall responsibilities, PAs conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, administer and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery, and in almost all states, can write prescriptions. Within the physician-PA dynamic, physician assistants exercise autonomy in medical decision-making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. A PA’s practice may also include education, research, and administrative services.
